Patented sensor designs
Benestad has developed and patented two specific capacitive sensor designs for subsea instrumentation. Capacitance is the ideal principle for distinguishing water from hydrocarbons. Diffusion of water into the dieletric materials has restricted the capacative principle for gas and liquid measurements. However, Benestad found and patented the solution!

The patented designs have been sucsessfully applied to the Phaze Hydrocarbon Leak Detector (HLD) and Water Leak Detector (WLD). 

Experience
Benestad has since the early 1990's supplied GTM sensor to the industry:

• Capacitive sensor for subsea hydrocarbon and water leak detection
• Microwave sensor probes to topside and subsea multiphase, water cut and wet       gas metering

Through the sucess of these applications we have proven the sovereignty of glass/ceramics sensors.
